Zipp's 303 S Tubeless Disc Brake wheelset gives today's cyclists the versatility they demand at the speed they desire. Greatly extending the legacy of conquering the Spring Classics, this 303 wheelset retains the 45mm rim depth ideal for all terrains, but adds a significantly wider interior width to deliver higher performance and ride quality in almost any measurable way. Road bikes are more versatile than ever, but just as fast, whatever the road surface. The 303 S introduces a completely new rim profile and design to optimize rider performance in this new type of bike. This wheelset is tubeless for bikes with disc brakes, allowing wide tires to be run at lower pressures for race-ready speed on pavement. The 303 S is among our lightest wheelsets, with 28mm tires optimized for highest air performance but capable of handling gravel tires up to 50mm wide. The 303 S borrows design concepts from the high-end 303 Firecrest Tubeless Disc brake wheelset to gain speed through increased efficiency. This is achieved by creating a reduced wheel: wind resistance, rolling resistance, driver fatigue and weight. The most important innovation is in the rim design of the 303 S Series. The 45mm rim depth is the same as its predecessor, the 302 Disc brake. But the rim width is 2mm wider at 27mm and the tire bed is 7mm wider at 23mm. This rim platform is designed to be the fastest with 28mm tires. The wide rim optimizes the tire profile to allow lower tire pressure. This helps reduce rolling resistance and provides a more compliant ride. The result of all this is a 10 percent savings in watts compared to a high-end wheel in the total power required to drive 40 km/h on a smooth flat road with 28mm tires, according to internal Zipp testing. This groundbreaking wheelset includes all-new cosmetics that separate the driver from the pack and comes at an attractive price.
