SCHWALBE MARATHON GREENGUARD PERFORMANCE
What makes the Marathon series more durable endurance It has rubber compound. GreenGuard The protection belt (Schwalbe Puncture Protection Level 5) is made of one-third recycled material. By placing a three millimeter thick GreenGuard protection belt under the tread, the inner tube is effectively protected against daily bicycle punctures.
Schwalbe has equipped the Marathon line with the innovative "Anti-Aging" sidewall. The tire will now tolerate overloading at low pressure much longer before ugly cracks eventually begin to appear. To develop better resistance, Schwalbe technicians performed hours of rigorous testing.
Electric-Bikes are currently a fast-growing segment in the bicycle market, but these electric-powered bicycles place special demands on tires. Puncture resistance is obviously more important because a tire change or tube repair is much more difficult than on an ordinary bicycle. Also the wear is much greater because there is more power transmission and the bikes are also much heavier. With its improved puncture protection and greater durability, the new Marathon is much more ready for use on Electric Bicycles.
