Hydraulic Brakes
This collection includes hydraulic brake sets, hose fittings, olives and service parts. For Shimano, check exact lever, caliper and hose models. Do not combine systems without verifying fluid type and fitting compatibility.

Component compatibility in hydraulic systems
Choice extends beyond lever or caliper. Hose, insert, olive and fluid must match the system. Assess SM-BH59, SM-BH90 and banjo examples by full part codes. For sets, check included side and hose length.
- Verify lever and caliper compatibility together.
- Match hose model and end fittings to manufacturer information.
- Use only fluid specified for that brake.
- Assess rotor, adapter and pad compatibility separately.
Does every hydraulic brake use the same fluid?
No. Fluid type and properties are model-specific. Do not mix types; follow the manufacturer's specified product and service method.
Is inspection enough after fitting a new hose?
Specified bleeding and adjustments may also be needed. Do not ride before leak-tightness and braking are verified; obtain appropriate service assistance.
