Bicycle Pumps
Pump choice differs between regular home pressure checks and a portable roadside solution. Assess valve type, intended use and stated operating range for hand pumps, floor pumps and CO2 options. Distinguish spare parts from complete pumps.

Choose for location and valve type
Topeak hand pumps, PRO floor pumps and CO2 valve sets serve different needs. Gauge and base may matter at home, while size and attachment matter when carrying a pump. Tyre and shock pumps serve different purposes; choose accordingly.
- Verify a head suitable for Presta, Schrader or your other valve type.
- Observe tyre and rim pressure limits together.
- Check operating range and gauge units, if fitted.
- Check whether a spare head, seal or cartridge includes a complete pump.
Does every pump fit all valves?
No. Verify supported valves and required adapters. Similar-looking heads may connect differently.
Should I inflate to the pump's maximum pressure?
Pump capacity is not the tyre target. Determine pressure for tyre, rim and riding conditions using manufacturer guidance; stay within permitted limits.
