SHIMANO RT-CL900 IceTech FREEZA 160mm
Anyone who likes touring high mountains and wants to have sufficient safety reserves on long, fast descents cannot avoid the current generation of Shimano disc brakes. With Ice-Tech cooling technology, fading is effectively suppressed and stable braking performance is ensured at all times.
The brake disc is characterised by a three-layer sandwich structure. Stainless steel sides with an aluminium core offer significantly improved heat dissipation. This reduces the temperature by around 100°C. In addition, the FREEZA aluminium cooling fins reduce the system temperature by around 50°C thanks to the increased surface area. This results in greater heat dissipation and allows for smaller brake discs to be fitted than usual. In addition, the service life of the brake pad is significantly extended. As with Shimano, the discs are designed for centre-lock mounting, which enables quick installation, secure grip and a clean and compact appearance. A lighter aluminium carrier also saves a few grams compared to the previous version.
The magnet integrated into the lock ring serves as a signal receiver for the Shimano Steps EW-SS302 speed sensor.
