SHIMANO Ultegra Centerlock Rotor RT-CL800 | 160mm IceTech FREEZA
When developing the Ultegra CL800 brake discs, Shimano engineers have managed to prevent the discs from deforming due to heat. As a result, the CL800 discs offer more reliable, more controllable braking performance and are quieter than ever. Fortunately, the weight remains low compared to the previous version.
In addition, Shimano’s Ice-Tech cooling technology ensures excellent heat dissipation and stable braking performance even on long, steep descents. The brake discs are characterised by a three-layer sandwich structure. The stainless steel sides with an aluminium core offer significantly improved heat dissipation. This allows the temperature to be reduced by around 100 °C. In addition, the FREEZA aluminium cooling fins reduce the system temperature by around 50 °C thanks to the increased surface area. Due to the higher heat dissipation, smaller brake discs than normal can be installed. In addition, the service life of the brake pads is significantly extended.
As with Shimano, the discs are suitable for Center-Lock mounting, which ensures quick and easy installation, offers a secure hold and provides a clean and compact appearance.
