The ergonomically enhanced shift levers offer the slim look and feel of the Ultegra group. The addition of a mid and rear derailleur and an 11-34T cassette has expanded the CS-HG700 gear range. The most important feature of the new 105 is the addition of Shimano’s disc-capable hydraulic disc brakes (105 ST-R7025 STI), unique to this series. The Flat Mount calipers are compatible with Ice Technologies pads and rotors starting at 140mm in diameter. The Shimano 105 FC-R7000 HOLLOWTECH II crankset provides optimum power transfer, balancing weight and efficiency without compromising on stiffness. An optimised lightweight crank arm design features a redesigned chainring tooth profile, while refining performance. This gear structure increases the space between the chain and the front teeth to ensure compatibility with frames with 135mm OLD and 410mm chain lengths. Shifter Ergonomics The Shimano 105 ST-R7000 features a redesigned internal shift unit for a slimmer, more ergonomically shaped lever that matches the design of the Ultegra R8000. Increased reach adjustment of up to 15mm provides greater control and reliable braking performance in all conditions.
