BIANCHI OLTRE RC IS BORN: THE FIRST HYPER BIKE
With the new Oltre series, Bianchi Reparto Corse starts from scratch and goes beyond the concept of an aero bike by presenting the first Hyperbike, the Oltre RC. The perfectly integrated Air Deflector technology and the innovative aero cockpit guarantee the Oltre RC’s exceptional performance and speed. The new Oltre collection represents the first overall frame/component platform designed entirely by Bianchi. 

The Oltre RC hyperbike rewrote the concept of high-performance aerodynamic cycling with the launch of the Oltre platform, led by Bianchi and completed with the Oltre Pro and Oltre models. Born from the research and development of Bianchi Reparto Corse, the Oltre RC is a revolution in terms of design and engineering, with the aim of actively mastering and exploiting airflow by designing a perfectly integrated cycling frame and airframe component system. Oltre is a revolutionary approach to design thinking defined by the introduction of Bianchi Air Deflector technology. AEROVOLUTION: AIR DEFLECTORS AND AERO COCKPIT

“To develop the new Oltre project, Bianchi put the athlete and the need to make him as fast as possible with the least amount of energy consumption at the heart of the process,” commented Claudio Masnata, Bianchi’s marketing and communications manager. “The first revolutionary element is the Air Deflectors, a technology that draws the utmost inspiration from the world of motor racing to optimize aerodynamic efficiency in every situation.” Bianchi designed and integrated the Air Deflectors (patent pending) into the sides of the head tube, so that the airflow is directed and a low-pressure zone is created behind the tube. The action of the deflectors complements the performance of the new aero cockpit, which creates low-pressure air vortices that are directed towards the athlete’s legs via a centrally positioned opening. The result is a significant reduction in aerodynamic resistance by the athlete-bike system, as confirmed by wind tunnel testing. In short, the results deliver greater speed with less effort. Compared to the previous Oltre XR4 model, the Oltre RC saves 17 watts at 50 km/h and gains 45 seconds over a distance of 40 km with a power output of 250 watts. In variable wind conditions, the advantage over the best aero bikes on the market increases by 30 percent, providing outstanding performance even during sudden changes in wind direction. REPARTO CORSE COMPONENTS

Every detail of the Oltre RC frame/component system has been studied by Reparto Corse to achieve the highest level of performance. It is an obsessive research that has led Bianchi to design and manufacture specific components designed by a dedicated team of experts. The Reparto Corse RC50 and RC65 tubeless-ready wheelset has been developed with four main principles: stiffness, smoothness, weight and design. The new rims with 3K carbon coating are stiff, super-responsive and weigh 1540 grams (per set) and deliver smooth performance thanks to SPB Tech | Super Precision Bearings Technology.

In addition to the wheels, the RC139 carbon air saddle has a cushion improved with 3D technology and a weight of only 168 grams, allowing the athlete to maintain an aerodynamic position even over long distances without compromising on the best ergonomics.

NEW OLTRE FAMILY

There are three models that make up the Oltre series: Oltre RC, Oltre Pro and Oltre.

OLTRE RC: The new top-of-the-range model in Bianchi’s aero racing collection, the Oltre RC, has been designed for the most extreme athletes looking for maximum speed. The Oltre RC introduces the hyperbike concept. Created for World Tour racers and professionals, the Oltre RC (6,850kg in size 55, +/- 5%) dominates the airflow, thus reducing aerodynamic resistance and increasing the speed of the overall cyclist-athlete system. This is achieved thanks to the unique “Air Deflector” technology, which works together with the new aero handlebar to deliver unprecedented performance. The Oltre RC is equipped with the new RC50 SPB Tech and RC65 SPBTech tubeless-ready wheels (50 mm front profile and 65 mm rear profile) and features the RC139 Carbon air saddle (with 3D technology). These high-performance components were designed and manufactured by Bianchi Reparto Corse. The Oltre RC is available in six sizes and three different colours, all in ultralight paint and light carbon: anthracite with celeste inserts, anthracite with white inserts and anthracite with iridescent purple inserts.

OLTRE PRO: The Oltre Pro shares the same construction principles as the top-of-the-range RC model and features Air Deflector technology and a new aero handlebar. The chassis combines the Bianchi CV anti-vibration system with carbon fiber, which increases riding comfort for the less extreme rider. Equipped with Reparto Corse components, the Oltre Pro features an RC139 Carbon saddle and a set of RC50 tubeless-ready wheels (50 mm profile front and rear). It is available in six sizes and three different colors (anthracite with Celeste inserts, anthracite with white inserts and anthracite with black inserts).

OLTRE: The Oltre represents the gateway to Bianchi’s novice aero collection. Derived from the superior Pro and RC versions, the Oltre model is designed for a wider range of riders who also seek the thrill of speed. The Oltre’s full carbon frame and fork provide high performance in terms of stiffness and responsiveness. The Oltre model is equipped with new Velomann components: aero handlebars and stem; V50R wheels (50 mm profile front and rear); and Mitora saddle. Available in six sizes, the Oltre is available in three colours (Celeste, white and dark metallic grey).
