Cyclus Tools Frame Ear Alignment Tool

Use this tool to check and correct the correct geometric position/angle of the rear sprocket hanger in relation to the frame clearance. To do this, first remove the sprocket and mount the rear wheel to the frame.

1. Remove the nut on the gear shaft, then screw the tool onto the gear hanger as tightly as possible and lock it with the nut (SW 17).

2. Check at several points using the vehicle's measuring pin to check that the circumference of the rear wheel is equidistant from the rim.

If there is any difference, correct it by gently applying pressure to the vehicle to adjust the gear hanger position.
