The DS-1 is accurate to +/- 20 grams and measures down to 20 grams or 1 ounce. The DS-1 has a weighing limit of up to 55 pounds/25 kilograms. The scale also has a tare function that lets you zero the scale if you want to make comparison weights or weigh ingredients on a tray. The double-ended steel hooks, coated in thick blue silicone, make it easy to weigh frames without slipping or scratching. There’s a large, easy-to-read digital display on the front and three simple button options: kg/lb, on/off, and tare (zero) buttons. Surprisingly, the scale only measures in kilograms, pounds, and ounces, rather than pounds with a decimal point. The DS-1 runs on three AAA batteries, and an automatic shut-off program extends battery life. Batteries are not included.
