With the Deore cassette CS-M6100, Shimano offers the 12th gear for the inexpensive Deore starter groupset. As with the best series of components, the Hyperglide+ shift assist structure ensures particularly smooth and quiet shifting, even under load. Hyperglide+ / HG+Hyperglide+ is an efficient development of the Hyperglide system by Shimano. These are gear shift aids and specially shaped gear teeth that make the transition to larger or smaller gears smoother, smoother and quieter. A system of small rivets attached to the side of the sprocket and milled or pressed ramps allow the chain to be carried by the next sprocket before disconnecting from the previous sprocket during the shifting process. Hyperglide+ is optimized for faster shifting and shifting under load and has more efficient chain engagement, holding power and power transmission when combined with a compatible HG chain. Compared to the Hyperglide, shift time is shortened by a third and pedal stroke is noticeably reduced. HG+ provides a completely new chain stability and thus a safe driving experience.
Micro Spline
Micro Spline is an innovative thread profile on Shimano's MTB freehub bodies. All Shimano 12-speed MTB cassettes with a 10-speed gear are equipped with a Micro Spline freehub gear. Significantly higher and finer teeth provide a more solid connection between the cassette and the hub body. The resulting increased contact area ensures reliable power transmission, minimizes wear and prevents deformation of the free chamber and sprocket.
