After the mountain bike flagship XTR already set the benchmarks and the Deore XT and SLX followed suit, the Deore M6100 now completes Shimano's 12-speed lineup. It is complemented by components from the M5100 and M4100 series, which will equip the 11 and 10-speed drivetrains to the same high level.
Regarding price, the current Shimano Deore bands are positioned in the entry-level range, but they are not ready to compromise in terms of performance, quality and reliability. Nearly everything the XTR, XT and SLX has to offer in terms of technology, innovation, performance and functionality, you'll also find in Deore components.
The Shimano Deore chainring FC-M6100-1 is for 12-speed drivetrains and comes with a single chainring for direct mounting. Ease of use, reliability and quick chainring changes are the main advantages of such a setup. For example, Dynamic Chain Engagement + technology, previously used in the SLX, allows the chain to move safely, smoothly and silently over the teeth. The chain line, i.e. the distance between the frame and the chainring, is 52mm for this model, making it compatible with locknut sizes 142mm and over 148mm. Finally, the FC-M6100-1 scores with its metallic look, including the color gradient in the Deore logo, and its 2-piece design that provides a balanced stiffness to weight ratio.
