With its improved centre tread compared to the previous model, the Crossmark II literally flies over hard ground, yet still has enough negative profile to reach roots and rocks. The slightly reduced side knobs provide much more precise steering than was previously known with "fast" tyres. This is partly due to improved handling behaviour when driving on steep slopes.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: You can drive with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. The risk of failure is also reduced where there is no tube. MAXXIS TR tyres are better prepared for installation with sealing milk than other "tubeless ready" tyres. The bead of our TR tyres is completely covered with a rubber layer, like a real UST inner tube. As a result, tubeless installation is successful for all standard rims as soon as they are inflated and with little fluid.
Because the carcass fabric is so tight, even "normal" MAXXIS MTB tires can be fitted with sealant just like tires from other manufacturers.
Only new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless installation and are guaranteed by MAXXIS. Tubeless installation of other models is at your own risk.
Note: We strongly advise against the use of ammonia containing sealing milk. Ammonia has been shown to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after a few months, depending on the amount used.
Double compound
Two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. We plan the arrangement of the mixtures according to the desired properties of the tires.
EXO Protection
This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewalls of various MTB tyres. It is very densely woven, light and very flexible. As a result, the tyres' performance remains convincingly good.
