With the M7120 SLX crank, Shimano is taking a big step forward in many ways. Probably the most noticeable innovation: The M7120 is designed for Direct Mount chainrings. The 55-millimeter chainline is optimized for Boost rear stays. Matching Direct Mount chainrings with 30 to 34 teeth are available.
When creating the crank, Shimano continues to rely on its proven Hollowtech-2 technology with a 24-millimeter crankshaft. Thanks to design optimizations, the current generation of cold-forged aluminum cranks has managed to further reduce weight and increase rigidity at the same time.
